I had bought this shoe for the reason that it had a velcro strap across the laces. I don't like having strings in the way, and it does the job perfectly. The are somewhat stiff at first, but once you break them in they're good. Haven't had any problems yet, I've had them for over a year, with wear at least twice a week.
